MareKey for hotels Honest about what we have, and what we don't
MareKey is built primarily for vacation rental — apartments, villas, holiday homes. Basic hotel support is in early access. If you run a small hotel (up to ~30 rooms), we'd love to work with you. Larger hotels should wait for v2.
Early access disclaimer
Honestly: MareKey v1 is built for apartments and villas. Hotel features (room types with shared inventory, OTA Connectivity API, F&B / banquet module) are in early access or on the v2 roadmap. If you run a hotel with 30+ rooms, you probably need a full PMS — we don't want to onboard you onto the wrong tool. For small hotels (up to ~30 rooms) the system works well; talk to us before you decide.

Rooms vs. room types
Early accessModelling "room types" with shared inventory is in early access. Works for small hotels with up to ~30 rooms.
Booking.com / Expedia sync
Early accessiCal sync works. Connectivity API integration (full data) is on the roadmap — for now, manual handling with OTAs.
Conferences, banquets, F&B
RoadmapStandalone POS systems for the hotel restaurant or conference rooms aren't part of v1. If you need that, we suggest a parallel system.
Channel manager (Connectivity API)
RoadmapDirect Booking.com / Expedia / Hotelbeds API integration isn't in v1. For hotels with 30+ rooms this is typically a deal-breaker — it's on the v2 roadmap.
Frequently asked questions
For small hotels and boutique properties.
Realistically up to ~30 rooms in the current version. Below that everything works well. Above that, the lack of Connectivity API integration (Booking.com / Expedia direct) becomes a problem because of manual channel reconciliation. Talk to us before you decide.
No. You can start with a few rooms or a single room type (e.g. only "studio apartments") and let the rest run on your existing PMS. iCal sync makes sure there's no double-booking. Most hotels start with 25–50% of capacity.
The Manager dashboard runs on tablet and phone. The receptionist can welcome the guest, fiscalize the receipt, register them with eVisitor and hand over the key — all in one flow. Walk-in bookings work too.
For small hotels (up to 30 rooms) — probably not. For larger ones, yes: today we suggest MareKey acts as the booking front-end + fiscal engine, while a classic PMS (e.g. Mews, Cloudbeds, RoomRaccoon) handles housekeeping, F&B and revenue management. The connectivity layer is in the works.
Yes. Hotels that join the pilot get 6 months free on the Voyage plan, plus direct priority for feature requests. Email us — we're taking up to 5 hotels into the pilot.
